Why shared AC charging power changes

2 min read
QUICK ANSWER

A station power label does not mean every vehicle will receive that power continuously. The onboard charger, supply and equipment settings may limit it.

What to know

Multiple vehicles on one supply or building load management can change the allocation per vehicle. Ask the operator about shared power conditions.

Planning and usage

Plan time using a reasonable average from past sessions rather than peak rated power. Distinguish average grid power from battery input power and losses.

Final checks

Do not open equipment or electrical panels to resolve slow charging. Check vehicle instructions, contact the operator and leave installation assessment to qualified specialists.
